I drove for knight for 17 months. Nice terminals and driver facilities. The pay was definitely lacking. I averaged 3,300 a week year round so lots of miles. I’d suck it up and stay out for a month at a time because if you try to get home, it will jack up your miles, and destroy any hopes of a 1,000 plus check. They put you in a new vehicle but don’t let that fool you. YOU, the driver are paying for that new vehicle. I busted my as every time I was out and averaged 1,100 - 1,2000 checks weekly which isn’t bad. The company has Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona so the benefits aren’t bad. MAKE SURE YOU DOCUMENT AND TELL SUPERVISOR IF EQUIPMENT IS JACKED UP BEFORE TAKING IT. Knight is just like swift. They will find any little thing to put on your DAC report so you will have to stay with them. Let’s be honest. If you want the industry top pay without owning your own truck it’s LTL. No more waiting in line at shippers. I have a little less than 2 years in trucking and I’m currently making .685 cpm at Estes Express lines running extra board. I’ve had 5 checks so far and the lowest one was 1,680 for the WEEK!! The highest was 1,720.00 and yes Uncle Sam loves you. He takes 800 plus in taxes There is no pension which is a big let down but I can build experience and maybe make the switch to the teamsters when I can

You can find LTL pay without standing on the throttle pedal where I live. I still kick myself for not driving local sooner but some guys like the OTR lifestyle. But if you don't, financially where I live it makes more sense to drive local as an employee.Jaxx34, Boondock, LtlAnonymous and 2 others Thank this. -

Can you please tell me exactly what company you work? It must be a good company. Help your fellow driver's to find a good company like yours.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
I drive for a local warehouse. $27.00 an hour, cheap insurance, decent equipment, about 9-10 hrs a day. Good? Define good. What I think is good, and you think is good are probably at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Have a wonderful day!88 Alpha, hotrod1653, LtlAnonymous and 3 others Thank this. -
