    Hello again, all.

After nearly 4 weeks of TNT with Prime, I am standing at just over 10K miles. The requirement is 30K. I'm not thrilled at the prospect of 2 more months of this. There's nothing wrong with the trainer, I just want to upgrade to my own truck sooner rather than later. It was never my intention to be a team driver as I like to work by myself. I will admit that, initially I was having trouble driving 8 hours or more, so they said they would focus on "super singles", which I assume means more solo-type loads. Hence the low miles. But now, I'm staring at 3 months instead of the 6 weeks it was supposed to be and I'm ready to get this over with. Or maybe OTR just isn't really for me. I'm perfectly willing to entertain that possibility.

So, I am looking at my options and asking for advice from you guys.

I can ask my trainer and dispatch to increase the miles. This is probably the most direct way. But I'm still probably looking at another 4 weeks. Plus, again, maybe OTR just isn't for me.

My other option is to cut my losses and leave TNT and look for another CDL job. It was never my intention to quit, but I don't relish the prospect of another month or two of this just to get my own truck. But if I did choose this option, what are the possibilities of me finding another CDL job with only a month's experience? I know that many jobs require at least a year, but are there any other options, maybe less desirable jobs where I can get more experience but don't have to do OTR?

Thanks in advance. And if you guys feel I am being too soft, feel free to call me out.

    Val_Caldera Thanks this.

Averitt Express hires with 30 days experience.
Many companies hire with zero experience.
Which city/town are you in or near; your domicile?

You're in a good location for Leonard's Express.
No experience required, just be a graduate from a cdl school.
You'll be plenty of miles running all over the USA, coast to coast and border to border.
Maybe will pay your cdl school debt to Prime.

Thanks. I will look into them.

I also was browsing Indeed and saw a number of listing that say no experience required or limited experience OK. Some of them even say they're local jobs. Will have to look into them more.

    You Should Follow Your Senses.
I never Did Such OTR Training For Such A Time "requirement".
My OTR Training was 2 weeks as the Trainer and I were comically arguing over who was to drive when, yet that was with Paper Logs.
I could not have agreed to such time or mileage "requirement".

OTR WAS FOR I. I enjoyed the Random Routes Until I Didn't, Then Went With Dedicated Routing Until I Quit OTR Completely.

Roll With What You Feel You Can Perform.
GET SOMETHING SET UP TO STEP INTO BEFORE STEPPING OUT!!
    You'll Thank Yourself Later!
In The old Days, We Could Only Drive 10 Hours then 8 in sleeper. That was easier with fewer accidents/wrecks/fatalities. Nowadays it's 14 On Duty and of course 10 in Sleeper or Off Duty, or "beat the clock".

Not Every Applicant Is OTR Material. Trucking Is Not An Unemployment (or Unemployable) Solution.
Like Stated Above, I'm Only "Calling You Out" To Pay Attention To Your Senses.
YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR FUTURE, not Your Trainer or Company.

    You're WELCOME!!
