Hunt Transportation only has around 150 trucks running. They are Crete's flatbed fleet. It's a small group. Don't mistake them for J.B. Hunt.

They claim their hauls run a little longer than average for flatbeds. So far I have been liking it. Even though I am new and it takes me longer to secure loads, I'm still back out on the road in less time than pulling vans. It's only about 10% loads require tarping. They do a lot of hauling for John Deere and Catepillar.

They have a "handful" of automatics, but most of their trucks are 10 speeds.

With a 10 year old to take care of, why not go local? Get your tanker/hazmat endorsements and look for tanker jobs that keep you around the house.

A couple of drivers have posted they take their child year round. Some companies allow that.
One woman takes 2 children with her and they use a home school lesson plan.
