Mileage is a good addition to this.

I think I was around 100k flat? I bounced around some different runs.

    Definitely 95-100k miles.

    LTL.

But you will work for it, especially if you're making in the 6 figures. Both linehaul and P&D come with their own unique stresses.

Just to be clear( turning on computer with a slight hesitation), $100,000/year in any truck, sounds so unreasonable to me, at least for a common schmoe trucker, like I was. I don't mean to pixx anyone off,,it's just people who save lives don't make that much.. I have known drivers that work for companies where they aren't a trucking company, for example, one of my best friends, the late Al Dunn, from Wisconsin, worked for years as Quad Graphics driver. He always made more than the rest of us "regular" drivers. The down side there was, they weren't a trucking company, and I don't have to tell you the frustration there. With this "adjusted for inflation" crap, I could see maybe $80g's/year, I've made on the low end of that, and know what it took to make that but over $100, I imagine it could be done, if you are married to the truck, I wanted a life, and "settled" for the $75g's. I tried to write off as much as I could, but was just too darned honest, and STILL paid taxes on at least $30g's, how do you guys "hide" all that? I doubt you pay taxes on $100grand, and if you do, the gubment sure thanks you. Maybe I was a bit hasty in not renewing my CDL,,,$100 grand,,,hmm,,,nah. you couldn't pay me enough to do this job today.
Now, how to change my "handle" again. I'm "Happy to be retired", but certainly not "Happily Retired",,,,I'm finding out. Retired folks sure get the crappy end of the stick,,

So you honestly don't believe drivers are making over $100,000 a year?

to be fair, the mileage i posted was paid miles. my *actual driven miles are 5% lower than that.

i didn't make 100 this year, but i certainly have before. and without a doubt i paid taxes on it. of course when the free money was being doled out they based it on a lower seniority/more work year for me and i didn't qualify for any. the $800 credit on my taxes last year was better than nothing, though.

someone needs to tell happily retired that the sky is falling. decent pay-trucking companies that don't #### all over their employees do exist.

112,802 miles for 2021. It’ll be quite a bit higher after the next bid.

Pamela1990, truckdriver31 and jmz Thank this.
