It'll be lucky to make it 5k up the hill before it ends up in a ditch.

I'd also like to see one spread a load of gravel on a road or back up to a paver and dump a load of asphalt into the hopper, then navigate its way back to the pit through a constantly changing construction site.

Heck I'd love to see one chain itself up. Or determine that its got a dragging brake or smoking wheelbearing. You just can't replace a set of human eyes.

I'm gonna buy one, lease it to Landstar, run it 24/7/365 and sit home and rake in the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I just hope the truck doesn't call me at 3am because it blew a tire, then I'm going to be pissed

People don’t understand, if these trucks take over in warm climates what do you think happens to those drivers? They will move up north.

They won't. I see the vast majority on this site piss and moan about throwing chains or park when they get an inch of snow. They'll never hack it in winter with that attitude.

    This is the right answer.

-45, or a 70" snow fall in 48 hours, they will be on the 1st plane back south.
Don't fear, Walmart and Home depot need employees.

don’t underestimated the human resolve to provide food for their families.

vast majority here don’t speak for many of the ones that aren’t here. Hell if I gotta drive up north I will, I hate chaining but I’ll do it if I have to.

Driverless trucks would be perfect for logging, it's the same repetitive routes, not much other traffic out here, the mills are nice wide and open and designed to be super safe already, navigating at slow speed is a joke for a computer. ...as for wrappers, the loader can hop out and take the 5 min to tie em down, hire a guy for min wage at the edge of the bush to re tighten wrappers,, before off to the mill, scale operater can remove em. Many fail to realize how quickly technology advances lol.,no segment of the trucking industry is safe forever from technology.

I wonder if they put a certain name plate on the side and give you a belt buckle if they can charge twice as much...
