Actually, it doesn't sound that bad.
No freight to wait on getting loaded or unloaded.
Get to see some or all of the country. With Uhaul, probably hit places that aren't that common for semis.
Only thing I would be worried about is kind of topical right now.
Driving along windy places in an empty truck.
Wouldn't want to be driving I-80 in a big empty van like this anytime soon:

    Good luck to you.

Little bit skeptical. I've never heard of an employer screen for nicotine. This seems above and beyond invasive of company policy.

    Coffey Thanks this.

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen a uhaul employee who doesn’t smoke.

My brother worked for them years ago. He would go around and move equipment from A to B, clean and service them, etc. It was a pretty gravy job but I don’t think he got much in the way of pay or benefits.

    Edit: he DEFINITELY smoked.

E Cigarettes are probably the only way. Most vapers are former smokers and vaping is by far the most effective way to quit smoking. Many gradually reduce their nicotine levels until they are using zero nicotine eliquid than keep vaping that for the feel of smoking in their mouth/throat/lungs or stop vaping completely. Even if you do continue using nicotine liquid, there wont be a smell left behind. Maybe Uhaul wont care about nicotine if you switch to vaping.

That's how I quit smoking all together. I used to smoke for 15 years and then went from e-cigs to vaping. Then I just quit.

A friend of mine retired from the Army and now works for U-Haul. It's not a lot of money but he gets per diem and a motel room every day. If there's nothing moving from wherever he delivered they pay for his airline ticket and pay him while he's dead heading. Paper logs, no waiting to load or unload, and relatively new equipment.
I think the OP might have found the exact match for a driving job.
