Ty for the welcome and willingness to help. Im In Gulfport MS. I do need to get my cdl and so far have been doing alot of checking around. But im tossed between selling my soul (lol) to the Mega carrier to take the cost in there hands and get my teeth into it to get the yr experience so more doors can open up, or go to the school near me TDI, but will still have to get with a carrier willing to take a new cdl grad to get the road time to open the doors. I have a terminal for Knight Transportation very close to me, for them they want you to pay your travel to Phoenix, pay for lodging and food while at school, the flight there and food i have no issue with that much but if school is 3-4 weeks that a lot of lodging to pay. Now KLLM is 3 hrs away but they cover all, so far they are a choice. Now if i go to private school, i wont have lodging costs, and from there website the up front cost is small, but only if a carrier picks you up and has tuition costs covered.
Now im not doing this for need as in bills backing up or bookies knocking on my door, Wife and i own our place no bills other than the normal. I retired in 2019 (blessed to have had a good job to retire at 56) We got in a Vacation to Texas and then the bottom fell out as in Covid, so for now our traveling has stopped. I have worked hard all my life and know about long hours and time away from home. But that is the long version. Short version I am looking to want in before the end of this month, so the digging around continues.

TDI is a good school, so go with that one.
We can give you plenty of choices for companies that hire from that school.

Looked at the TDI website and it has something about a 15 day school. That's not long enough for many companies. Another place on the website has 3 week school.
Contact the school and ask how many hours the school is.
