I carried 2 levelers on a tandem trailer and 3 on a tridem trailer. We had company guidelines that no leveler should support more than 17,500lbs (even though the manufacturers rating was much higher) and that all levelers must be chained to prevent leaning or tipping in case of a hard braking incident. The reason for the 3rd leveler on a tridem was that the 70k load can't be spread over 2 levelers and 2 blocks on the neck without going over the 17,500 limit.

The traction motors aren’t as big as you think. They were about as big as the regular gear section of the differential. A0B32FB6-5954-4A3E-906B-620F7DC56B09.jpeg

Yeah, that's a lot smaller than what I had pictured.

A locomotive distributes at least 600 horsepower per axle to the tracks in most case.
A highway tractor only requires a peak of 250 hp per axle and if you put 130 hp motors on the wheel-ends then you eliminate differentials, power dividers, transmissions and driveshafts while adding a generator and battery set. Yes there may be a weight penalty but not as much as it would have been with lead acid batteries

That’s cool, a few companies in Europe are doing the hybrid thing, but this would be cool and work within the existing infrastructure unlike hydrogen.

    Thanks for sharing:).

Thankfully I don't watch TV. Taxes are guaranteed to go up. Hence the abundance of new hire tax agents. I guess I just have to wait for the currency reset.
