Looking at possibly adding air ride suspension, to the steer axle on my ‘93 L model. I’m looking for a better ride and not necessarily bags for heavy haul. What’s the best option?

Every person I know that has either done their own kit, or bought one for a w9.... eats steer tires, has vibration, and eats steer tires.

If you are having ride issues ... make sure your torque arm bushings in the back are good. Replace your shocks with oem ... cheapy paccar shocks ride better on my w9 than monroe gas magnums. And make sure your pins, bushings, and hangers up front are in good shape.

If you are not looking to get low ... for looks ... I will pop the hood in the morning for the part number on the 3 leaf pack. I have no complaints about my ride quality

Then they should have token it somewhere else and got it done right so that doesn’t happen.
You find your ride height on the air ride set up and you align it for that.
My truck rides 10x better than it did with that massive leaf pack. Air ride Technology has advanced A LOT. And there’s a huuuuge percent of trucks now on aftermarket air ride. Get on Instagram and see for yourself lol. No brand of shock will ever compare to air ride + And a nice brand of shocks helps too..

So I also have a 93 that i need to convert to air ride. Wishing there was kit i could order and it would have all the parts to complete the project. 12 gauge any good? dont want to do it twice.

I heard people like their gen 3. 12 gauge kits so for the money I’d say go for it. Can’t ride worse than it does now lol

There’s a company in I think Pennsylvania, who makes a kit that’s much better than 12 Gauge. I talked to a very well know guy at in the truck show scene who drive red KW’s and he quit their air ride system. Told me that their bracket broke and he called them to get a replacement bracket and was told he’d have to buy another complete kit. I apologize but I can’t remember the name of the company in PA that he uses now.
