    What year is your truck?
    • 2000 and older trucks must comply by Jan. 1, 2020
    • 2001-2005 must comply by Jan. 1, 2021
    • 2006-2007 must comply by Jan. 1, 2022
    • 2008-2010 must comply by Jan. 1, 2023

For older vehicles, CARB says they must be either replaced with a 2011 or newer vehicle or repowered with a 2010 or newer engine.

    Thanks Socal Xpress,

I am having a difficult time swallowing the fact no one put up a fight over this nonsense. I havent seen any effort from anyone group to deal with with even correcting the math. Such bs.

What if I wanted to restore a Tractor from 1970?

From my understanding Gliders are still good to go except in Chunkanda.

Im really sorry to say I want to make/rebuild/restore/repower my Tractor/Glider ONE TIME. With a DD12V71T In a 71 Kenworth. Something I actually can afford. Something that will easily traverse Tioga Pass SAFELY. Not be underpowered and de-rated. Strange its not that difficult to get a 2 stroke to pass same emmissions out the tailpipe as a brand new cummins.... I wonder why that is? Anyone been stuck on the pass during a faulty emmision derate code at 5mph? Tell me how safe that is?

The only thing I see in conversation is no one is enforcing it. I sold my NEW Lemon 2018 Kenworth as it spent more time in shop than making money. All this smog crap did was almost kill a bunch of people. Seems that pumping exhaust gases back into the intake of ANY type of combustion engine is STUPID DANGEROUS AND IDIOTIC. Instead why not pour water directly into the oil? Or oil into the radiator? Maybe that will work better?

My sincerest appologies for ranting. If there is an agency that deserves the utmost disdain... Its Cali fake epa carb holes... Maybe someday the actual brotherhood might be reborn and every trucker going to cali stops at state line and unloads right on the highway... Remember the 55mph limit? Ill bet when people cant get thier crap or eat... Bet that law would change in less than a week... Oh well wishful thinking. Why would anyone think for themselves? Freedom? Bet you all cant wait to be forced to drive those fancy shmancy electric trucks... Go 100 miles... Stop..recharge for 12 hours... Another 100 miles....stop..recharge... Then 2 years need an entire battery pack that weighs more than half the entire truck that damages the roads more....then disposing of all those fireeee poisonous batterys in the landfills giving california water a tangy taste...like Tang...

These regulations started in the 90's. To early for me to care and just have to deal with them now.

Just do what these older trucks are doing, 1000 miles a year exemption. God help them if they ever get an audit….. which I doubt CARB is smart enough to do.
