I’m having trouble getting an appointment with a mechanic so I’m hoping someone here can help me out. I have a 2007 freightliner Columbia with a 14 L Series 60 with a full delete. Once or twice a week when going up a hill at approximately 15 RPM I get a check engine light that lasts about 30 seconds then shuts off.Is there anyway to check what this is, and do you guys have any ideas on how to troubleshoot. thanks in advance.

check the coolant level. those trucks have to run high coolant level above the bottle sensor. the water pump draws so much in a pull. it can cause a low coolant light and shut down. run coolant level about 1-2 inches above the line. hope this helps

I had same truck/same engine and same set up. I also had the same issue. Try changing your turbo boost sensor. There is another sensor, I think its a manifold sensor or something, change that one also. It fixed my issue a few years back. Light would only come on in a hard pull such as going up a hill. Didnt come on all the time but, it did it every now and then.

Doesn’t your Truck have a self diagnosis (overide) button? Key on, push and hold button. Count the yellow (stored) flashes or red ( active) flashes.

I’ve had a similar problem. It was caused by the fan coming on, and blowing the coolant sensor plug. Caused it to wiggle and eventually an intermittent break in the wire. New pigtail, and secured better fixed it. Best to get a code, if there’s one logged. Can also get a code while it’s active. Beats guessing which sensor or wire.

If his truck was anything like mine(mine was deleted and had same exact symptoms) it of course only flashed "25". I would remove the turbo boost sensor and clean the bottom of it and it would work also.
