Why do you need it to stay on are your temperature running high?

Not sure where it is located on your motor or if it work on a newer truck. But if you unplug the water temperature sensor, you will get a check engine light but your fan will run continuously. However this also depends on why the fan is not working.

Cut the air supply to it, see if it is staying engaged.

With no air to it if the blade still spins, it needs a clutch. No way to mechanically lock it.

If it is a horton fan clutch depending on which one you have you can lock it in with a bolt . Just Google it . A bendix is supposed to lock in when it loses air so I assume you have a Horton
