    1) take a stock inventory of all your food/beverage supplies.

    2) calculate how much you eat and drink per day.

    3) plan on dying 24 hours after your supplies run out.

I was up near Souix Falls, SD (or maybe Minnesota? Can't remember) when I saw a guy step out from around a truck on the shoulder with no jacket on... it was like -11°. He waved at me, so I stopped.

Come to find out, he pulled over to check something real quick, hopped out without his jacket and got locked out of the truck. I took him up to the next exit with a truck stop where he could wait until someone got it unlocked for him.

    That could have been deadly.

I always call out on the radio when I see a truck in distress on a two lane but virtually never get a response.

Don't forget the satellite plan, too. 30-100 a month.

Most new cars don’t have enough room for a 2nd body in the trunk, I wouldn’t worry.

No. I have a Qualcomm with satellite service . Also, I have Verizon and T-Mobile phones that have a signal 99.9% of the places I run. For those running out in the boonies, t would definitely want some way to get hold of someone at all times.

yeah, back in many of us and early years, no cells phones even existed. no satellites either. you had to depend on the cb radio, when other drivers actually helped you.

but if you ran thru the deserts, or mountains, many times, you were there for a while, and appreciated the police stopping to help you.
