Under the following conditions, and assuming you can only drive 11 hours per work shift because you have elogs, how do you maximize your total miles over the course of 8 weeks?
(1) every day you drive, you always get 11 hours logged on line 3 (driving) and your average mph is always the same
(2) you begin your 10-hour break at the same time every night (or day)

neither.
a. Don't burn your 70.
b. Take a 34 hour restart.
I prefer option "a"buddyd157, Sirscrapntruckalot, Moosetek13 and 2 others Thank this. -

Keep off of line 4.

I prefer recaps over 34's. Same amount of available hours....just crammed in... or spread out. Personal preference and appointment times will determine how one chooses to run.

Loggers probably aren’t worried about miles, between loading and unloading the 70 is their main problem. Then take Saturday afternoon till early am Monday off as a 34 and start over……

Then there are those of us that run recaps because we like the relaxed lifestyle it allows.
It isn't all about miles for some of us.
I might make a few more bucks running hard, but the added stress just isn't worth it to me.david123abc, silverspur, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
You work about 50 hours, then go home for 48 hours, then work about 50 hours, then go home for 48 hours. Do that about 48 times.
