They do haul for Swift. No.... do not work for them. They run mostly worn out Swift Tractors with 400-500K miles, and will try to lease you one for some ridiculous weekly rate. Go straight to Swift. NOTE: I am from Tucson, have spoken to enough DSW Drivers to know they are worth avoiding.

May Trucking has a Western 11 fleet and they have a terminal in Phoenix. Their pay was not the best, but it’s been quite a few years since I drove for them so they may have improved the pay.

I was on the 48 state reefer side so can’t tell you anymore than what I always heard which is the Western 11 fleet wasn’t as good as the reefer side. I would recommend talking to them to get more updated info.

The good about them is they leave you alone as long you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing. They don’t call like a mother hen if you don’t start the truck the second your 10 is up. They don’t have nanny systems or cameras in their trucks and their trucks are nice and come with a 2000 watt inverter, bunk heater, air conditioned and heated driver seat.

The bad is their pay (was when I was their) is on the lower side, their terminals ain’t much to look at. I just made a point to stay away from the terminals as much as possible. Lol

Navajo Express has a terminal in Tolleson. Haven't seen it, so don't know if it's safe to leave a vehicle there or not.

I'd check the parking situation with DOT Transportation in Bullhead City (Post #2).
You can drive for DOT Transportation in Bullhead City, AZ and get a residence in Laughlin, NV and by doing that won't have to pay state income taxes.Laughlin and Bullhead City are side by side connected by a bridge crossing the Colorado River.

I drive for Swift's Dedicated target account out of the phx terminal. Plenty of miles if you want them. Only run AZ, NV, UT, NM, and west Texas (El Paso pretty much). No CA (yay!) From what I can tell, the Target fleet gets all the newest equipment too. Plus, if you use me as a referral, I think I might get some sort of bonus lol (if you work out).

Years ago I delivered to Targets & K-Mart in AZ, hauling candy from Tennessee & Kentucky..
Saw Knight trucks there also, but that was a long time ago.
I think Knight does haul out of AZ and see their trucks doing drop & hooks here at Sam's Club in Las Vegas.

Schneider has some pretty sweet western dedicated gigs ... Don't know their experience requirements. But I see / holler at on the radio while passing the same guys running up 93 thru nevada all the time. They are happy ... which is all that matters.

Legend Transportation is hitting craigslist pretty hard ... mail hauler, looks like good money. I think it's a company requirement that you have a chip on your shoulder and drive in the most inconsiderate way possible. But, $$$

If you want to do local ish, just the state of Arizona based out of the Phoenix area ... PM me. There are a couple newbie friendly companies that I will not publicly post.

With Swift, you can do OTR and stay in the West. That's what I do. Originally, ran all 48 (never ran New England area), but after awhile realized I didn't want to run in the Southeast. Talked to my driver leader and she switched me to the Western region. About as far East as I go with any regularity is Denver. Been working well that way for over a year now. And, for my specific situation, some of the planners know I don't want to do the Southeast, but don't mind running East, like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio. Stuff well North of the Mason-Dixon line. So, on occasion they'll ask me if I want to run a load that way. They'll always call me and get my feedback before they even send me a preplan, which I can then accept or reject as usual (we aren't forced dispatch). Last time I was East of my normal stuff was last July. Had a load from the Northwest corner of Washington state to Wisconsin. I ran North on 94 as it was probably the best load I think I've run. It's beautiful for that whole stretch from Washington North on 94 through North Dakota and then swing down into Wisconsin during that time of year. Since it's winter, haven't complained about not getting an Eastern load in awhile. I can wait till the summer months!!!
