swift/JB/Werner etc all jockying for cheapest fuel prices to lock in a contract with a big chain. that's what happened.

I just fueled in Big Cabin and I was glad to see they still have full service fueling. I stop often but haven't fueled there in a long time

We used to pull into the old 76 at Clays Ferry KY, go eat while the truck was fueling. Come back and the truck would be parked out of the way when the right attendant was there. (the one we knew could drive)

I remember a few places like that from when I first started driving. My old man was the type of guy who would only stop at the mom n pop joints. If we had to sit at a petro or something he'd ##### the whole time

Well your pretty close, your "assumptions" are whats holding you back a step.
I DO NOT HAVE FLEET TRUCKS,so you have to go outside the box with this.

These are custom builds for light weight, short wheelbase and big horsepower. They were built to drag large oilfield pumps up steep grades and maneuver on/in limited space oilfield locations in Canada where standard 350+" wheelbase trucks wouldn't work. They are very quite inside
with the custom insulation throughout their 80" Condo Cabins
Double over 18's as spec'd by the Oil/Gas Company (T2's I believe?)that originally ordered them,I took one a step further and had a few tweaks to the motivation. In summary "off road" tuned with new asphalt manners.

The first one completed was on display at the Dallas Truck Show in 2007(only 80" bunk Columbia with 6" duals on the entire property)
and drew quite the stare during its 4 days of off duty. The custom tune that was being promoted lost its financial backing and fell out of sight in 2008.
Anyway enough of jacking this thread.
Point is there are Big Cat Killing Detroit's!!

Years ago I drove for a lady the ran KWs.
    first one was a 74 w900 with a 1693 cat and a 5 x4 tranny.
Then moved up to a 79 Kw glider kit with pete air ride.
    Had a 350 cummins and a 10 x 4 turn around.
Took awhile but that trk would fly.
Last driver that had it before me got a ticket on the Ohio turnpike for 120 mph.
    He was canned.
She kept a copy of the ticket on the bulletion board in the shop with a big note that say any more of this and ALL TRUCKS will be cut back to 55 mph.

I had it up to 90 in wy. and I started getting that floating feeling and I chickened out.
