As you know I’m no Detroit guy. By the location and appearance I would say that is your 7th injector or also known as the DPF fuel doser/ injector.

That injector must be removed and the hole must be cleaned every 6 months... otherwise regen temp is going to be low and there will be high *fuel pressure in hydrocarbon injection line* code( sorry i forgot the numeric code)...

The detroit manual will call it a "Fuel Doser Injector Valve" or "Hydrocarbon Doser Block" aka 7th Injector.

do you happen to know if the chunks of carbon fall into the exhaust pipe it’s going to be a problem? Or will a regen fix it? -
