Do their pilots wear flip flops and track suits? Water bottles in the head?

new posts on pilot report! - Got a lease on a old jet, where can I get it deleted? Don’t hate, I’m gonna make money and take some time off flying for Uber air freight!

If older planes keeps the cost low I’m all for it. Unfortunately they usually either go out of business, sell to the big guys or jack their prices when they think they’ve got ya.

The Boeing 757 is a proven reliable design that is known for being used on long thin routes,as well as having excellent takeoff and landing capability. Plus, they’re immediately available-American Airlines retired their 757 fleet at the start of the pandemic so those airframes are readily available. If FedEx doesn’t get their hands on them and convert them into freighters first!

A friend of mine is a DAL CA who started out on the 57 and he said while they are dinosaurs, they are sports cars in the 121 world with their thrust to weight ratio.

Back in the second half of 2020, during the heart of the Wuhan Virus, my wife and I flew a lot, and DAL was using these bigger planes on shorter hops like ATL to TPA so you could sit every other seat.

Indeed. 757 drivers call it the “Hot Rod” because of that thrust to weight ratio. It was originally intended to be a replacement for the Boeing 727 but many operators of that plane ended up supplanting their 727 fleets with the 757. The 757 single-handedly created its own market.
