New Boston, MI at the little truck stop half a mile away from the terminal.

I managed to avoid all the bad weather along my routes in the last few days.
Now I'm headed to the Chicagoland area, and then to southern MN with a Home Depot load.

    Rockford. IL at the Love's.

My next load isn't scheduled until tomorrow afternoon, and I really don't need to pick it up until Thursday morning, so I'll be getting a 34 in.

That load delivers at the Costco near Menasha so I'll be able to get the new IFTA and permits.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

I was eastbound on I-90 just getting into Chicago when I got a call from my DM.
It seems I was selected for a random, and last night and this morning when I was at the terminal didn't work out because of how late I got there and how early I left.
She had been tracking me all day trying to set up the test.
She sent me the address of the place I needed to get to, saying it was about 30 miles away.
Well, I-90 in Chicago is not the place I want to be to start reading an address and punching it in to my GPS.
Luckily traffic slowed to barely a crawl and I was able to do it safely.

She said there was a big parking lot there where I would have no trouble getting the truck into; she had scoped it out on Google.
Turns out it was 40 miles away and in the wrong direction, and that big parking lot was chained off so I could not get in.
I ended up parking along the street and blocking most of that lane, then I had to back up past the street I came in from to leave.
Good think there was little traffic at the time.

Gotta love it when a random comes up during a load. It is always fun.
It made me 2 hours later on this load, so my next load will end up being late.

    jurupa valley at home.
was suppose to go to Lupton AZ for the weekend trip.
but other driver first load was overweight.
so they gave them another and changed tcall to beaver ut. winds were howling Saturday so was glad it was beaver since it would have been crosswinds on the 40.
already 2 trucks overturned on the 15 b4 I left. so ended up taking sidesteps so I can keep it slow.
on the way other driver called and said he wouldn't be making beaver since would run out of hours.
so tcall was changed again to Salina ut at the loves.
left early this morning and tcalled load at jurupa terminal.
now off till Tuesday. so came home.

    Moosetek13 and dwells40 Thank this.

So I just delivered a load to a Sam's Club that was already late.
When I got there he wanted me to move a loaded trailer on the lot into a dock, but it was blocked by another trailer which I could not move out of the way because of snow piled up in front of it.
That trailers' delivery was on the 19th, and today is the 23rd.

My current Costco load is also late. It was supposed to deliver on the 22nd at 0500, and I will get it there on the 24th.

It seems that most of my loads are late before I get the pplan, and I'm wondering what's up with that?
It is past the new year when freight slows down, so why are so many loads still so late for delivery?

These are not loads that are late because of the weather. They are loads just sitting there for someone to take them, or move them.

One nice hing about getting a late load is that I can control the time I get it there.
There is only one time window... mine.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

    another trip to Lupton AZ.
snow on 70 for the other driver. so Denver had us come here
he got as far as 108 mile frome here b4 running out of hours due to snow.
he had to get An airleak fixed too.
so he will miss the next trip.
I will either do a Lathrop terminal run or pheonix..

Well, I just wasted an evening watching a pointless, drab, stupid, up in the air movie...
    Zack Snyder's Justice League.
I have no idea why it got good reviews, because I thought it was the lamest super hero movie ever to be made.

On the bright side, I had a good day otherwise.
I got to turn down a crap load but still accept the backup load that I wanted.
A nice day with sunny skies and cold enough to keep the truck idling.
My next load doesn't pick up until 1400 tomorrow, so I can sleep in for a change.

And R-Place is open again at the TA in Morris, IL.
Think I will go in for lunch tomorrow before I pick up that Sam's load.
    I love the food there.
