One has to always keep in mind, the US is a service focused nation now.

And the majority of demand for those services are directly related to how much expendable cash is on hand.

IE Do you have a REAL job mister ?? Or is your service part of the industry cutting back also ?

We can't all be bell hops, and meet payroll for the motel.

lets face it people good jobs are hard to come by in any part of this great country we live in. people are getting desperate needing a job, a place to live, food, clothes just basic needs. Right now the training mills are hiring and giving false promise and hope to these people, but what alternitive do these folks really have? This is why even after reading threads on this forum, they still are optimistic and say we can do this, we have to do this to try and survive. My sincere hopes and prayers are that all can make it . If not in trucking then in some other vocation. Lets not bash these folks for trying, I applaude them for at least trying while others lay around and wait for a hand out!

So.... what you want is an easy way to make $s?

If your mindset is focused on vocational "mills" of any kind then that's what you'll get.

Medical jobs that don't require much schooling. - Phlebotomist and EMT. In most areas either of these pay 24-30K starting. In California you can do either one with as little as a semester at a local community college YMMV. There are others. Look on any of the big job boards. Medical assistants for the most part are clerks that take vitals and as a reuslt don't make very much.

Medical jobs are there and will continue because of our aging population. The field just isn't for everybody (me for instance).

No, I dont want "easy" money, but I want the money im making without putting up with the BS i put up with on my job all the time. I don't have time to take off work to go to school. I will never go to california. My post was directed to people who claim that we can make the same money at other jobs with the same or less credentials.

Nissan has never had a factory in southwestern michigan....And all of the good non union jobs in my area have been f'ed up by temp agencies. Besides that, i just cant do it anymore. Running an injection molding press and hand-inserting blow-in inserts into magazines 100% totally burned me out from any kind of factory work. Sorry.

Well hell that got me thinking. I used to do 12 hour shifts but I really wasnt making enough money to do much of anything, sadly. Anyway, I'm really just looking for something to do (for someone else) that'll keep me in my home area. I plan to start a DJ business...Nothing serious at all, and i need to be home to do it. :)

Not these days. They are the first to get hit when the economy goes south.

There have been many people that got over 12 years in the military working toward their retirement and were not allowed to reenlist . Some were able to get Civil Service jobs which allowed them to get their retirement .

More and more emergency services want Paramedics rather than EMT's on ambulances . There isn't that much of a demand for EMT's .
Like the trucking industry the medical field has good employers and bad employers . Nursing homes and hospitals doing the most hiring have a high turnover due to poor supervisors that overwork the help which causes them to be short staffed due to people always quitting .

I don't know of any and I know alot of people in the service. Of course if they don't advance they'll get booted and I only know of the Navy.
