Thinking about becoming a truck driver, but how do you guys deal with loneliness on the road? What ways to stay connected to other people on those long drives when loneliness starts to creep in?

    bryan21384 and austinmike Thank this.

If you don't think you can handle being alone on the road.

    Find another career.

All kidding aside, one can get pretty isolated on the road. Cell phones help us keep connected to friends and family. A good headset is a must. In most truck stop diners it is not hard to find someone to shoot the bull with for a while. But loneliness is just a part of the job. After a while you will learn how to combat it.

This job is better suited for people that tend to be loners. But other folk mitigate the loneliness by having a pet or keeping in touch with family and friends on the phone.

It's easy... just go spend 5 minutes in a public place...after you observe 5 minutes of the Special Kind of Stupid .. 90% of the people are
You will be glad to spend the next 2 or 4 weeks by yourself
At least thats how it works for me
