I was 59 when I started after having retired from Federal service. 10 years Air Force as an electronics tedh and 20 years Civil service as a cartographer. Age really isn't an issue, but some of the ailments of older age may effect things. Biggest issue with older folks can be night vision. While in most cases you can minimize night driving, you can't really eliminate it.
I ended up going with Swift and still with them. As a starter mega, I think they are better than most. Also, being a veteran, I got a better deal with schooling and more cents per mile (CPM) when I started driving than non-vets. So, encourage you to at least check them out. The exact benefits with schooling and cpm changes over time, so exact deal I got, may not be the one you'd get. But, considering the driver shortage, probably get a better deal than I did.
No company is perfect. But, I've found a home here at Swift. Not perfect, but for my specific wants and needs, I earnestly don't think I'd find better elsewhere.
Whatever you end up doing good luck to you! Definitely an adjustment, but I really enjoy the traveling around and the many adventures I've had.

Couldn’t have picked a better time. Might as well pick a Carrier with good equipment. Makes a big difference through the day, and how you feel at the end of the day.

I don't know if they offer it to new grads but something to think about later is a part-time program, if you decide you don't want to truck full-time.
Schneider has a program that lets you run a minimum amount of days per month.
Either way, there are tons of options out there so good luck. You picked a good time to jump in.

To the OP Welcome and 60 was old for our parents maybe, but 60 is not so old today. Especially when you get there. Besides everyone will get old ....if they are lucky.
