That's what I figured and I've seen a thread here that Says the majority of issues is with the head and since mine isn't passing or leaking oil I figure it's the head not the crank case because if I had a major failure in that way I would have oil in my tanks and or no fuel pressure

Governor's are 15 bucks for aftermarket of $50 for a Bendix. Changing the whole cartridge unit isn't so bad at $350 for a Bendix. But it sounds like it's bigger issues. I bought a Bendix for $50 last time I changed out my governor.
My cartridge is probably in a year old. It's like $60 for aftermarket and the unit is 2 years old, again I bought a Bendix for the whole unit. I bought a bad governor for $15 and did 2 hours round trip to replace it with a Bendix.
If I remember correctly. You need to disconnect the governor so the air compressor stays on. If the governor is telling the compressor to turn off it won't engage. But it needs air pressure to send to the compressor to tell it to turn off, from the governor There is a switch that can stick on the compressor on the off position too.
I couldn't build up air pressure and the governor was at fault.LightninMcQueen001 Thanks this. -
Well I pulled the head off my compressor and it had a slight malfunction so I just got done putting the new one on and I have pressure and it shuts off and on like it should.. yay I'm tired. Side note.. (paccar sucks to work on sometimes.. I think this was the worst part of the motors design the compressor is on the bottom and back drivers side of the motor between the frame and the block.. I thought my starter was a pain lmao)

Those Wabco compressors are weird. I have one on the Mack I drive and the unloader valve was stuck open for the longest time. Dryer popped off every 2 mins. They replaced the compressor and on one of those -0 nights it froze up and wouldn't build air, then started popping off every 2 mins again. Worked itself out over time but just irritating. I feel like the slightest bit of moisture screws those compressors up

Hey Gang,
2012 K-WhopperT660 MX-13 Paccar, I've replaced Gov., Purge Valve, as well as a new Canister Filter. Reason being out of nowhere started losing air Pressure at idle. It would maintain around 60psi and wouldn't build back up unless you run around 1900 RPM it will maintain 100-110psi while driving. Could it be the Unloader valve? -
Check the discharge line for leaks. Most often right where the cloth starts above the trans. Very hard to see and hear it leaking while the engine is running.SwampDonkey23 Thanks this.
