Hi Ruben, Welcome to the forum

If you go to the section/subject section you want to post in, you should be able to click "start new Post" for example up above you can click on Tanker, Bulk and Dump Trucking Forum. Then you should see a link for "start new post" I posted this thread under dump trucking since its related to dump trucking. Im not the best at explaining but hope that helps.

A lot of folks around here just use some scrap and build a u shaped block that gets held in by the bolt on the side. That bolts only purpose is to keep the pivot pin below it from backing out.

I’ve seen some leave it tilted back and use two pieces of angle on the side of the ramps and bolt it in that position.

Me personally with the Fontaine I had I used some scrap and raised the factory stops, then later bought a factory blocked wheel.

Looks to me like you have a Jost. There should be a tag on there somewhere.

The slide rail plate assembly bolted to the frame is Holland. The slider rail locks are Holland style. Holland usually has riveted tag on Lh side ear and they cast name on both top and underside of plate.

How important is it to protect the 5th wheel from forward movement? A bar in the rear of the 5th wheel will stop backward movement but not from forward movement.

this has me wondering if a set up like this picture is a better set up for my truck

The thing you need to watch out for if the wheel can still rock forward is it will eventually wear a bad notch in the side edge of the plate from the up and down slamming movement on that rear bar destroying the plate. Round bars are a little more gentle with it.
