If you are tired, and need a nap daily, please find another line of work, you will end up in an accident.

Those long delays at shippers and receivers.......those are the best times to take a nap.

Two things. Figure out if you're still going to be on time for your load. If not. Call your safety and dispatch departments. Have them both on the phone. Explain what you are doing. Why? Cuz safety will keep dispatch in check.
I've never had to do a nap in the day. But when I had to run a load at night. To run off recaps. I did have to take a 30 minute power nap. A few hours into the first night. But I had 3 hours of wiggle room on the delivery.
All that considered. If you are having to do it constantly. You might have sleep apnea. If you don't. Then you're not cut out for this line of work and should find something else. -
just try not to nap for too long, you'll wake up grouchy and groggy..
set a timer for no more than 20 minutes.Sirscrapntruckalot and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
