When I ran for Millis camera facing the driver from the feeds I saw during the safety meetings only showed the driver in the seat and you’d be surprised at some of the stuff drivers would be doing while going down the road. Camera would only activate if you had an event from my understanding. Was explained it was to expensive to monitor the camera 24/7 drove for Millis close to 3yrs had only 2 calls from safety for hard breaking coz of idiot 4 wheelers darting in front of me at the last moment.
JOHNQPUBLIC, Still undecided and MIT Thank this. -
MIT Thanks this.

That's good to know. You also know I was kidding right? I don't think the driver facing cameras should be on when the truck is off for a break though though.
Old - School and MIT Thank this. -
Hometime can’t come soon enough these past 5 weeks have been the worst ever.
Starts off with Covid, or supposed Covid as was told to me. Decided to come out early because I was going to pick up a student. First day back they had me switch trucks. Brutal absolutely no energy.
Spend first 2 weeks out by myself no student because they forgot about him. Could only drive 4 hours before having to take break because of exhaustion. Shut down for a day in a snowstorm.
Pick up student truck breaks immediately. Spend half a day in Cville waiting for road service.
Drive up to Trenton where truck breaks down again. Sit around till Monday for shop to get in.
Told to get truck up to Wisconsin Kenworth but have to finish driving load to Toledo where we get load to St Elmo.
Truck breaks down again in Indy. Sit for 7 days. Get picked up by Trenton employee drive to Trenton to get replacement truck. Drive it to Palmer KW in Indy where they tell me truck is ready. Leave replacement truck in Indy and drive to St Elmo. Get load out of Edwardsville where we end up shutdown for 2 days because of snowstorm.
Pick up load in Atlanta yard drive tires were at 33820 had less than half tank of fuel so had to stop 4 times to fuel up on way to Milwaukee.
Dropped in Milwaukee on a Sunday evening, ended up with 2 local deliveries that were live unloads Monday morning. Followed by a live load Monday afternoon.
End back up in Milwaukee yesterday pick up load knew it was heavy but they won’t do anything without a scale ticket, Go and weigh it 34890 on drives go back have them rework it, more hours wasted.
Here i sit on I44 west with a trl tire blowout.
Can only think my student is cursed.dwells40 and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
Honest question, how's the student handling this? Is he rethinking his decision to drive?
Still undecided and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
Can’t really blame anyone or anything for all the events just my time I suppose.JOHNQPUBLIC and Goldenfan Thank this. -
I had weeks like you where every day was a steady diet of shyte sandwiches. I would sometimes go a couple weeks without any issues and everything would work out. I remember once Opie pre-planned me for over a week in advance before he was off for several days. It all worked out and I never interacted with anyone and just sent all my arrived/loaded/empty messages. That was probably my best single stretch. It was nice knowing what I would be doing several days in advance.
The usual was a mixture of both good and bad which probably most of us can agree is normal.Still undecided and MIT Thank this. -
I'd be surprised if your student doesn't think you're cursed.
Gremlin304 and MIT Thank this.
