Where to look for my First Job after CDL school?

    Not really sure where to go for my first job, just graduated from CDL school last week and got my license today with tanker & twin endorsements(would've gotten hazmat but new policy made it not possible).

    I was thinking of going Schneider for the Tanker experience since I imagine they can help me get my hazmat endorsement, but I've heard the pay is not great & I don't necessarily have any particular interest in or think I'm ready for tankers considering I'm a new driver.

    My school pushes Werner but they don't have much around me besides Dollar General accounts(which I'd like to avoid also because I'm new), and stuff in Charlotte but I live in Raleigh so that would be a drive.

    I'd really like to do LTL type stuff but that requires experience and a Hazmat endorsement, so I'm willing to go mega if I'd really have to. So I'm just wondering if anybody has any advice on what to look for, any advice, or thoughts/opinions on Schneider/Werner/or any other Mega you'd recommend for a first job. Thanks!

    Was your school not accredited to get the haz mat ?

    don’t pay any attention to the experience requirements in the ads

    if there’s a trucking company near you, just walk in , with a copy of your MVR and talk to the terminal Manager .

    Raleigh is a good location; plenty of good jobs for you.
    You made a wise decision to stay away from Dollar General accounts.
    I'll post some companies for you.
    Tankers is ok to get started for a new driver. You'll get trained well before going solo.
