One of my Friends has on his medical card that he is a social drinker. Is that bad to have on your medical card?

Oh yes. If it says right there "Social Drinker" on the med card, he's out.

Same question came up after reading OP. Every one I know does "social distancing" on the occasion, no one ever heard of such "med honesty" on med card. Something new?

Maybe it is best not to admit to any social anything these days?
Just like it is best not to dis your company on any social media.

I have seen this develop over the last decades or so.
It is dangerous to be on social media, or to have thoughts and opinions that do not conform to political correctness.

"Nineteen Eighty-Four has become a classic literary example of political and dystopian fiction. It also popularized the term "Orwellian" as an adjective, with many terms used in the novel entering common usage, including "Big Brother", "doublethink", "Thought Police", "thoughtcrime", "Newspeak", and "2 + 2 = 5"."

Newspeak could equate to 'Fake News' or 'The Big Lie' these days. Both of which have been used by both sides of the spectrum to their own ends.

Written in 1949, Orwell's last book in his lifetime, but he had the date a bit early.
He saw it coming before I was even conceived.

What it means is he honestly answered question 30 on the current medical long form. Back in the day I also answered that question honestly. Alcohol is not prohibited for truckers off the job. The ME looked at that answer was OK with it and said, social drinker. This is because at the end of that series of questions is a place to better explain yes answers and then a bit further down a place for the ME to make a comment. The ME has to acknowledge yes answers there. That comment really means nothing and I would not worry about it.

I'm assuming we're talking about the long form?
