I knew as soon as I saw the jerkweed at 0:06 go flying by that guy was about to get hit, and it took all of about another 30 seconds.
Boondock and austinmike Thank this. -
Apparently they can't afford to "pay attention",,what's all the fuss? I think it was partially the cops fault, sometimes LEO's seemingly do the stupidest things. People were driving by much too fast, so this officer probably didn't have the overheads on to warn people, it was a dark car with no lights on in the middle of the road. People can be so stupid, but it's not entirely their fault. Many never have a breakdown, so are totally unprepared if one happens. They drive the car until it literally stops moving, never thinking of getting off the traveled portion. IDK, a black spotlight, I think it was a cop. Once, came up on a woman, stopped in the middle lane with a flat tire, standing BEHIND the car waving her arms. THAT was a close one,,,

inattention, distracted driving, (maybe posing for a selfie for Instagram or twitter or whatever.
i feel badly for the cop at the scene, he coulda been hit as well, trying to light up the first wreck.
god bless those in blue.Boondock and austinmike Thank this. -
The only fault I see here is not just the driver, but the state's motor vehicle department. We, as CDL operators have to go through extensive training and testing while the average commuters have to drive around a block to get a license.
The average commuter should be trained and bavs to learn the SMITH system. Take an extensive test and be able to pass. There should be technology installed that blocks a cell phone's operation unless in park.Boondock and bentstrider83 Thank this. -
With the price increases, lack of supply and interest.
Just don’t do it any more.Boondock Thanks this. -
If the average motorist is that stupid lower speed limit to 55 mph for them also.. I bet 75% of the ones that had a near miss continued speeding 2 minutes later.

Glaringly Obvious BRIGHT Head Lights Mean NOTHING!!

Regarding The Thread TITLE:
I-80 west in Utah closed for multi-vehicle crash involving semis, trooper
I Say That Some "drivers" FAIL TO LOOK AHEAD Especially IN DAYLIGHT!!
What's a "Blind Spot" On DRIVER side?? Seems He Was Wanting To Move LEFT, then Was "Surprised" By A Travelling S.U.V., and "Lost Control" and Slammed The State Officer.
Another Trucking "tosser" That Deserved A Break.
Right Side Blind Spot, Yes & No.

The reason there's a "blind spot" surprise is because you weren't paying attention to your surroundings.
