IMHO, the only segment not destroyed by undercutting rates is flatbed/OSOW.
If you can do it, there are still money to be made.
Car haulers are going down the rabbit hole due to an overcrowded field and high insurance rates.
Generated by an avalanche of claims, justified or not.
    Just MHO.

And there are no #### cars to haul!

I know a few companies buying 389 car haulers, cutting the car racks off, and converting those trucks for highway use.

Everyone and their dog got a car trailer, to pull behind their reefer/van highway trucks when rates started to tank in 2020.

Most of those claims would go away, or at least to the appropriate place, if hammer head drivers would just DO THE ####ING SURVEY.

So true. How hard is to do your #### job?
If you got the training. Which a lot of drivers, they don't have a ####### clue.
And not ready to learn, too.

I looked at auto hauling a couple years ago but stayed put. Glad I did, lots of trucks and trailers for sale down here as autoport seems to have dried up.

I'm not Canadian, but I load out of Detroit if not daily every other day. Plenty of Canadian Cassans trucks loading for back across the border along side us.

We (a U.S. based company) have more work than we have trucks and drivers to go in them. Our rates are thru the roof because of a shortage of trucks.

There is a lot of work out there right now.

    @Banker
Banker, is far more experienced than I he could probably add a lot more.

    Good luck.

I agree plenty of work to be had. Supposedly something like 30% of the experienced carhaulers left the industry. People that don’t mind getting their hands dirty and working in the weather, there are plenty of jobs to be had. Some pay great and others don’t, just take one of the good jobs as they are there if you look hard enough.

Does any Canadian Owner/Op car hauler get your insurance coverage out of the USA? I have found there are limited insurance offerings here in Canada for car haulers, especially ones that haul into the USA.

There’s a car hauler that’s gone bankrupt several times here in Winnipeg.

Another Canadian driver and Tron Thank this.
