I'm gonna guess the brokerage is billy bob's alligator eatery and the broker only has nubs for fingers. That's why it takes so long to get an email reply. It's hard typing with a single nub

Redacted LLC or JB Hunts, they all pay the same in the grand scheme of things. In the grand scheme of things, it is the market that tells the broker what they will pay you, not you telling the broker what they should pay you, on the condition that you know the market and won't let yourself be duped by the broker.
Big brokers with their own load boards most of the time post much smaller rates, with a few exceptions when capacity is really tight. But don't fall for it, it would be foolish to just literally "click and book" without bidding, calling your rep - you need to find someone within C.H.R, Coyote, XPO...to be your rep, a person of acquaintance, and try to jack up the rate a little, or simply waiting or finding that posting on the DAT and then calling on it... BTW those reps are looking for you to be directing the rate request through them, they don't like the apps. The Megas also have their desperate moments and will agree to pay you all money in the world to take that last-minute load, if needed.
Load board freight is inferior to private network freight, where brokers hand their tenders to their favorite carriers directly, and you never see that freight on the loadboard. That is, of course, the benefit of a relationship...something that I never found, not that I was not looking for it too hard either. I guess I don't want to be under some moral obligation of loyalty and deed reciprocity. I like to be like a cab driver where each customer is a unique history - pay me your fare and we're done.

If you're referring to back soliciting, then that's pretty crudy considering you signed a written agreement to refrain from such actions. Why not find your own customers to cut the broker from the mix?

How’s it crudy? The contract states to not back solicit within one years time. As long as I’m past a year I’m legally within my rights to do so. I’m not driving a truck I’m running a business and will do everything possible to be successful within the legal parameters set by contracts and government. We’re in a multi-billon dollar industry. If you can make your self extremely wealthy and set your family up for future success than maybe it’s time to reevaluate your business plan.

I personally wouldn’t worry about any non soliciting terms in an agreement with a broker. I’m not an attorney but in most cases I know of there agreements not contracts which a agreement can be canceled anytime the other doesn’t agree with it since agreements aren’t as legally binding as contracts. It’s just business as I see it brokers do it all the time going after someone else business and don’t think these large companies would spend time worrying about or loose time going after one truck operator.. I personally did this without trying to.I took a broker load and while loading another driver loading also was talking to me the conversation went to how I got the load after telling him the broker I used he said he could get me hooked up directly. So I’ve been doing it for10 years now running products for home improvement stores I deliver then empty back.Havnt used a broker in that 10 years.

$4.02 a mile out of the north east to PA for Tql last few weeks, might do better with some of the smaller brokers but I worry about getting paid, and my customer out of PA pays both ways coming back up so I can run empty if I can’t make money running down loaded

You have no idea what you're talking about and it's obvious. You CLEARLY stated after "6-12 months" you'll begin back soliciting efforts. I've never seen a 6 month BCA and you don't even have your authority yet. What you plan on doing is wrong. Period. The fact that you felt the need to respond with a little tirade in an attempt to justify your actions speaks volumes. Many Shippers will never load you again if you try to back door the broker. A BCA is a written agreement. 100 percent legally binding too. Have fun, kid.

@Texasrig, your forum quoting skills need a little work.

I'm not responding to the content for you or him but I can tell you he's probably already put you on ignore. That guy won't have anyone disagreeing with him.

Best of luck out there. I don't know or care where or what you plan to run but with your attitude you'll fit right in with all of the crooked jerks in trucking these days. Have you and your moral compass started a thread on how to steal fuel yet?

You’re an idiot conducting business in accordance with a contract is not crooked. Stealing wtf are you talking about I didn’t mention or even hint at anything illegal and it’s not what I’m about. But check this, I’m down here in fort worth Texas. If you want to talk about my integrity or character do so to my face chump.
