That's EXACTLY why I refuse to use self checkout even if I only have 1 item.

Not sure of the brand... It was a door prize from an Answer Plot Growers Convention in Iowa several years ago. I recieved it from a good friend, fertilizer salesman, and co-worker when I worked in the fertilizer industry. The small round hole used to have a small thumb stud for one handed opening, but it loosened and was lost many years ago. The blade is really thick, even thicker than some fixed blade knives.

I use a set of nice diamond stones to sharpen all my knives and axes.

Heres a close up of that blade from last time I sharpened it.

I hear there is one "Big Boxer" working on a plan whereby they would park several Conestoga's in a line. You drive up and punch your ID number or the c/c you will use. Creep alongside and reach out, select and grab your items. Trailer would be like a series of vending machines, you punch bread, it cycles and bread is there, cinnamon rolls, punch it's button and there. Would only be a limited range of like the convenience store basics. dry and ambient temps.
Get to the end, whack a hard left and come up the other side for other selections. Reach end there, stick in the card to pay.
Rotate the trailers daily to DC to replenish/restock. One time loading.
It is in you car, no sacking... You unloaded it, and you paid, no labor. Five trailers in a line are cheaper than a building.
Probably be set up in the parking lots of "Neighborhood Markets, for those in a real hurry.

You know, within 10 years something like this will be a reality. At my age, I will be gone. Some one remember to ref this post posthumorsley.

The diamond "bite" marks on the edge was what prodded me to ask. I have used the hand held "stroker" device with diamond v's that leave marks like that.
Was trying to equate the missing stud opening to be a bottle opener or something. How old and what brand? I have a couple of Case "Stockmen over 20 years old (been back to case for blades twice). Steel in blades gets sorrier every year. Good carbon steel is a thing of the past.

Ive had this knife for almost 10 years, daily carry for over half that. It holds an edge really good, maybe sharpened it 4 or 5 times.
