I've been driving commercially since 1986, and took a sales job for the last 7 months. Due to the pandemic and supply chain issues along with a pay check that didn't quite cut it I decided to return to driving.
Due to my wife's medical issues I need to be close to home and was lucky enough to get hired by JP Lampborn as a company driver. I'll be running California and home every night. There may be exceptions at times. They manufacture flexible ac/heating ducts. My first day will be March 14th. I'll update once I onboard, they have plants in Fresno, Denver, Knoxville and Lakeland.
Be safe drivers!

Does the company have good health insurance for the family?
-
Yes they do, once I get the costs and coverage I'll share. I don't care how good a company pays, one hospital stay can wipe out your extra pay.
-
That can happen with a bad insurance plan too. -
"there may be exceptions at times" as in, a quick run to Knoxville and back ?
Lonesome Thanks this. -

Yesterday I had orientation, filled out some paperwork and toured the plant. Learned how to use the elog, and read our load sheets. Today met with the senior driver at 3am. Delivered to Vacaville and loaded at the same customer for their location back in Fresno. Once unloaded in Fresno it was back to the plant and home. Only drawback was having to tailgate the pallets with a pallet jack, nothing too heavy however.
Day 3 will have us going to Victorville, CA for 1 stop. -

They really keep up on maintenance, the jack had a sticker for the next service due!

The first week went OK, but I had to resign. Was told that the loads were no touch, however every stop was a tailgate stop. After 3 back surgeries I don't want another. So I reigned on Friday. End of Thread.
