I have driven a truck for about 25 years. I did the whole OTR company thing when I first got into trucking. Then got a local run after I had some experience under my belt. I finished my career as an O/O still local. Now during this time insurance wasn't an issue for me as my wife had good coverage from her job. I am now a licensed life insurance agent and wanting to specialize to focus on a certain group of people to help. So I go back to my subject line, Do O/O worry insurance? Please respond to give me a feel for how much potential interest there could be for this.
    Thank you for your help,

Only a few do. Out of all my friends in trucking, I am the only one that has life insurance, occupational insurance and health insurance bought from a marketplace.
Everyone else just relies on being young and praying to God

Years, and years ago(almost another lifetime) I was a sole proprietor, my wife carried the family health insurance from her employer.
If I was to go back out on my own nowadays(60yr old), the health insurance would break me. I am a company employee, I carry the insurance for employee and spouse, as the children are all grown and on their own. My wife retired early, so she pulling from her pension but to early for SS.
There now are some employers that will not cover spouses on the employee benefits, if the spouses employer offers coverage.

I worry about it, but its unreasonably expensive, im better off just saving the money than buying a service that will fight me tooth and nail to not pay out

    I have blue cross, I pay $400 / month.

Had to use the other month, $15,000 surgery, out of pocket was $900, no fight to cover the rest.

    I’m happy with my plan.

I think there would be interest. I don't need any personally but there are a lot of folks who get in to this after doing some other job that had insurance and it's the last thing they think about. Meanwhile, they get in to one of the most dangerous jobs out there with the most volatile incomes, bad health habits from sitting, smoking, etc.

I get medical insurance through marketplace. Would get life insurance again but medical condition makes it impossible. Was an employee when condition started and had life insurance but once i left and that policy ended ive never been able to get it again.
