Those places smell like feces and urine too. Especially in the heat of summer. Junkies and homeless using the public streets as their personal toilets. NYC recently decriminalized public urination!

 

It has nothing to do with Nebraska per se. Pick any major chain truck stop on the East Coast and you'd think you were in a third world country. Containers full of urine all over the place hanging out with bags full of human feces. The places stink to the heavens. Blaming this issue on NE is misplaced IMO. The problem is these POS drivers.

 

It’s not so much arguing against it, it’s explaining why the state won’t just take land to build larger rest areas. You’re not thinking about how large the Ag lobby is so that’s clouding your vision of how things should be.

Or to put it another way, if you owned land that’s worth $15k per acre or more would you just give it to the state to make more parking?

 

True and totally agree, but it likely would be more in the deep South that I'd go to. But I definitely agree. I doubt I'd ever even buy or even rent a place again for that matter. I've adjusted to living in vehicles and driving trucks. Don't like paying or trying to afford insane prices in the housing market. Apartments alone are ridiculous! I don't like paying off someone else's mortgage and everything I own fits in my car which I've really come to like because I can pack up and go whenever and wherever I want in the blink of an eye

 

And I love that kind of heat. Used to live in it. I hate the cold. You'll usually find me in some jacket or hoodie unless it is at minimum 76°
