Why don't we run off road diesel in our reefers?

IIRC, before ULSD, off road fuel could be up to 2000 ppm sulfur? And on road was up to 500 ppm? My '96 Powerstroke loved the cherry flavored type when you could get "high sulfur".

Use to be common practice fuel stop had on/off road diesel available. Been 20 or so years since I pulled a reefer. Believe reefer fuel is taxed a different rate of no tax.
But red fuel is perfectly legal.

Back in the day at Schanno we had 125 gal reefer tanks just like the IE rail reefer trailers.
    Plumbed to something?
