For the last couple of years I’ve had OOIDA sponsored CDL LEGAL as the company protecting my CDL.
Last November I got a ticket for failure to obey a traffic device at the Flying J in Big Springs, Nebraska.
I parked on a dirt road behind the truck stop at 3am in a blinding rainstorm . I was awakened by a very rude local yokel, and this wasn’t his first time doing this. The town has posted on a pole, a very small sign saying no parking. And he gladly wrote me a ticket. No problem CDL Legal will take care of it. WRONG!
Fast forward 90 days and I’m getting emails that my license is going to be suspended for not paying the ticket. I had to make contact with the town hall and take care of the problem myself. All I got from CDL Legal were excuses as to why the lawyer dropped the ball and “I fell through the cracks”.
This morning they tried to hit my credit card for $357 for another year of coverage. Thank God that card was shut down on a fraud alert. I’m now looking for another company and I fear I’m going to get more of the same. Anybody know of a good company that won’t let me fall through the cracks?

I know guys that have used these services with mixed results. They are there to assist in keeping a moving violation off of your MVR. But a Parking ticket? You should have just paid it.

Moving violations are to be fought if you got it in a state that allows. Some states don't like trucks and don't allow. Wy and NM are 2. You can get it reduced to something stupid to keep it off your record but you still pay the fine.

Non moving violations. Just pay the fine and consider it lesson learned.

Roadlaw is one I used and there's another one where roadlaw sometimes doesn't go. My last ticket was the other firm. Can't think of their name at the moment.

    Neither have let me down.

Cdl monthly plans aren't worth it.

    chilibowl Thanks this.

I’d say that’s a big difference between the $357 I was paying to CDL Legal.
    Thank you for the information
