2006 mack granite CT713 quad axle dump brake issue

    Haveing an issue with left front duel brake getting hot. have adjusted, backed off, removed wheel and inspected brakes and couldnt see anything really wrong. just bought truck and dealer put new shoes on all 4 drives. any ideas???

    Maybe time for a new slack adjuster. You have one over-adjusting by the sound of it. Have a mechanic that knows what they’re doing check the pushrod length and angles of the slack adjusters first. There are a couple of details in there that can cause over adjustment, but if that’s all good you just need a slack. I’ve had some come back that had maxi chambers changed at shops on the road that were all ####ed up. Cut the pushrod too long and it adjusts almost every time you make a brake application.
