If this just happened why are you throwing ideas out there of all your possible problems?

Stop talking and let the issue get resolved before you say you have this and that medical problem

I had a steer go out. Truck started grinding into the road, made a loud noise and it pulled hard to the left. Drove down the road a bit like a snake until I could get stopped.

That was the first and only time it happened to me and it was pretty obvious. It sent my co-driver flying put of bed thinking I went off road or something.

I agree, there wouldn't be any doubt. Loosing a steer on the freeway is a very unpleasant thing.

Just the way you describe it, it sounds like u were asleep. How can you say next thing you know, you're hitting the guard rail??? Were you blacked out or something? Lol

Thought the same thing. Inside damage is from jumping the curb/guardrail.

Guardrails are about 40" tall. If this truck had the rail under the truck. I would think there would be more damage to the Axle. Also more damage to the plastic tank covers and steps. How much damage is to the front end bumper and hood?
Could be the sequence of tire failure and hitting the guardrail the driver never experienced before. SO truly he doesn't know what happened.
Maybe his command of the English language is lacking and he can't convey in a way to say what he experienced.

I've been thru some very tight construction zones. Guardrail tight to the lane of traffic.
I would like to see and hear more facts.

OP good luck. Glad no one got hurt.

    It can happen to anyone.

I remember one 'experienced' owner/driver describing his collision with a State dumptruck on the shoulder with

"if I had hit the rumble strip on the edge; I would have corrected but the truck was parked right on the edge..."

His company's insurance bought Connecticut a new truck and paid two B/I claims too.

His tractor was old enough that he did not have Physical Damage coverage and he was unable to replace it.

    Construction Zone.
    Dog ate the Dash cam.
I didn't know the gun was loaded and hammer ####ed.

The OM thinks either dosed off, or veged off, fell off a trench, or cut out being repaired, with a hard concrete edge.

    Result=Wake up call.
