LOL...I don't think a Canadian driver would get home very often working for us. The last time we sent a truck to Canada was about twenty years ago.

Haha. I assumed because it's the Canadian forum. So if i worked for you I could expect to see the wife with a reset at home every 20yrs or so. Tempting.

I hate getting stuck behind those guys trying to get there hours up, 90kmh or less on the 400s, 70kmh on regional rds. I know I wouldnt be happy getting under 50hrs a week at todays rates either though

There’s more of those big paying hourly local/regional jobs than there are drivers to fill them in a lot of cases. The catch with the good payers is they usually involve bumping more than a dozen docks a day and , God help us all, maybe even handle freight. That narrows the candidate pool considerably in this day and age. It’s the same with OTR drivers, you don’t usually hear the LTL drivers crying about what they’re being paid. But they hit a place like Chicago, kill 3 drops and 2 picks, stack their freight and beat feet before traffic in the afternoon. Your average Mega driver, that’s just not going to happen. And it’s reflected in the pay packages.

11 drops today and 575km plus parked at tomorrow’s first drop. Easy day even though I crisscrossed the gta doing my morning drops afternoon was easy highway miles and drops.. $650 for otr on delivery days works for me as a company driver.

Be good for a nap after that. I’m guessing it doesn’t take you 20min to get into a parking spot. I’ve had loads with 14-15 drops on them, but they were strung out between T.O. and L.A. Nothing at all like the day you just had.

When I was looking recently a number of companies were advertising a per hour rate however it turned out to be per run. So if the route calls for a ten hour run but because of customs BS or a 401 shutdown and it took you to the end of your clock you only get paid the same rate

I've only ever really done hourly regional/local. It's like any other job Ive had only without the labour aspect. First gig was 50 hours per week @ 27 per hour with 3 stops in total at OT after something like 55 hours which I rarely exceeded. Next gig was 40 hours per week @ 24 per hour with 5 stops in total, but it had OT after 40 hours and the option to work Saturdays in the warehouse. Currently drive about 200 km in a day over the course of 6 hours, paid a guaranteed 40 he week. I don't consider myself a proper trucker obviously :D

I see COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT offering $35 per hour out of Sudbury. Should not have to advertise on FB at that rate.
