Ikr. If a starting driver makes $95,000-$110,000. Then a season driver makes $87,000

Does anyone here know if Walmart trucking hires part time?
If you do run 5 days on and 2 days off, is there a minimum amount of miles (or hours) you're expected to run each day? I've always been a local, hourly paid driver and never had to worry about watching mileage or hours.

If you're asking those questions, you're probably not a good fit. ;)

    But to answer your questions:

Walmart does not officially have "part time" drivers. They do have things like the 5/5 program where you work 5 and are off 5, but a new driver is unlikely to get on such a program, at least at not at any of the DCs in our region.

As for hours, you're expected to effectively utilize your DOT hours. You have to manage your time. And if you have 2 or more hours left on your DOT clock, you're likely to get another load.

So 14 hours on the clock of which you're expected to drive 11 hours. Got it. Thank you!

    Nicely summed up…

My first day of onboarding only 8 out of 64 drivers did not fail the backing test. They told everyone else they had a few days to practice and they could retake it lol…smh

Depends on the DC I guess. I know guys in the northeast who run 10 hours a day and have never had a complaint from WM about it. If I’m on the road and sleeping in my truck I prefer to run out my clock…since I’m there to work but like I said some guys only wanted to work 10 hours a day and were happy with it.

Not sure how you got that from what was posted...

You're expected to be productive...as in, when you make money, WM makes money. Is that any different than ANY other trucking company in America? But here is the thing, you set your ETD and WM will rarely, RARELY ever question that. If you get to a DC and you've got 2 hours left on your clock, no one is going to question you if you set your ETD for the morning...and take some time to relax, grab a shower and some food, and put your feet up. I'm sure most DC's have a minimum goal for mileage or productivity...my DC does...and you can meet that goal in about 8 hours of work.

OH LORD HE SAID THEY EXPECT YOU TO WORK 8 HOURS DEAR BABY JESUS!!!

As stated above..I'm here to work. I've got no problem working 13-14 hour days. But no one is forcing me to work those hours.

'The Gryphon' said if you have 2 hours left on your clock you're likely to get another load. That's where I 'got that from'. Take it up with him. :)
That being said, thanks for the info.

P.S. Not sure what you meant by, "OH LORD HE SAID THEY EXPECT YOU TO WORK 8 HOURS DEAR BABY JESUS!!!". Are you having a conversation with yourself or was that directed at me? If the latter, you know ZERO about me to be making a comment like that. Are you mentally ill?

I know I liked Mrs Doubtfire and Hook. Mork and Mindy was a good show. Oh, and I thought Jumanji was good too. And to answer that last question you posed, don't think so...my mother had me tested...
