The one I’ve been working at has been totally remodeled inside and has a food bar , with the usual chicken fingers pizza etc and other stuff .

 

Looks like they'll be cutting down on wait times for showers as well. Two at a time, in and out. Nice long bench, and grip bars. Man they think of everything.

 

Those stupid self check out lanes are absolutely a waste of $$$.... Every time I go into a place that has those, there are long lines at at the 1 or 2 manned registers... And NO-ONE going though the self checkout.

Personally, I wont use a self checkout... If a cashier screws up its thier fault and I'm not likely to be affected by it. BUT, if I screw up and walk out of the store... Its theft. Not a risk I want to take.

 

Does 'consistent branding' mean that the Flying J name is eliminated?

 

Improved yes, it's a slightly improved turd over just the regular turd it once was

They are trying to compete with Loves for the "Travel Center" trade. When you go in to the men's room in the morning and there are five men waiting in line for a toilet you'll know they've achieved their goal.

 

Yawn. I could care less what it looks like. Will they have decent food options? I doubt it.

 

Every effing Pilot executive should have to eat 3 meals a day at Pilot for a month. Then they might understand.

 

yeah i'm with the others...lipstick on a pig, and no expanded parking areas.

they need to buy up the surrounding land for a better truckstop.
