Well if you don't have problems with it I guess have at it. Like I said before I just put a set of twins on my 6nz and intake Temps haven't been an issue. But that will depend on your climate too. Ive seen mine get a little high but nothing i can't control with the fan. For the most part not much if any hotter than with my single. Precooler does add a bit of restriction

I myself prefer the twins for my BXS.

    Pre-cooler is staying in place.

The air coming out of those turbos are around 400 or so F.

Once it goes through the pre-cooler, the charge air drops to around coolant temps, then the intercooler cools the air to a nice cool temperature.

Dense, cool charged air makes better power.

dirthaller and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Not trying to argue, you are correct with everything. But I really haven't noticed much of a difference with intake air temp on mine. And I do watch them.. But hey run what works right! If you don't have trouble with the precooler have at it. Ive never ran one but I've heard they can be a pain and don't last for long??

Lester: I understand what you’re saying.

I’ve not driven this BXS long enough to know of any failures with Pre-coolers but they can fail just like any other part. It is another part to fail, just like having an extra turbo.

The turbos on this truck are still original, I’m not sure about the Pre cooler. It looks as rusty and old looking as the engine itself but clean and shiny stainless inside.

Reviving this thread. What cooling jets are you guys using with the 10r7172 packs? Sis shows a different part# for NXS vs the JRE.
