Your right "He is earning as much per mile or per hour as a guy making 140k for working a 70 hr week." And I have thought about this too. This is why I am posting this because I want to really think carefully about this before doing anything. Yes I want to make more money to put towards retirement and pay down debts, however working 70-80 hours a week is not going to make me happy at all. It will be a unpleasant grind.

I can utilize the extra free time to build my skills. So over the past few months I have been flip flopping and trying to decide how to best build a better future for myself and what will make me happier.

I have been trying to learn as much as I can about search engine optimization and digital marketing, Many SEO jobs are remote jobs, so I was thinking about trying to get a entry level internship job doing SEO even if its unpaid work for a couple months to get some hands on experience.

I guess I got lucky with this job, the company seemed like they could not find anyone in the local area to run the lane.

At first the company offered me mileage, I told them I was interested in the route/lane but the money was not enough if paid by milage, so I negotiated a little with my fleet manager.

    paystub>>> Paystub

PS: I also said in my original post "I know nothing about frac sand hauling" The post was intended to collect infomation from others who know more than I do.

Hi. I don't think that I can say anything that anyone else hasn't. @Western flyer knows my history out in the oil patch but I don't mind sharing again. I wouldn't go out there again unless I owned the rig. This way I KNOW it will stay fixed and if it breaks, I KNOW who broke it. I worked for only one man out there in 2017 who maintained his equipment and they would pass an inspection. The only problem was he didn't back his drivers. The last foray I had in the patch, the U-Joint broke off while I was headed back to the yard and the ####### left me to die on the side of the highway. Thanks to the local sheriff and Parks and Wildlife. And more importantly, thank God for sending them to me. Now on to what you're asking.

There is good money out there if and "if" carries many meanings, you can end up with the right people. I'd put up an ad I saw, but TTR would ban me for promoting, so I'll paraphrase. TCT (Texas Chrome Transport) is offering 10K to work with them. The catch is that you need your own truck and authority to even think of getting that kind of money. I'll never say not to try it. I'll say go at your own risk. I went back to reefer and am in the process of paying off my truck. While I miss seeing my lovely wife, I'm treated better here than I was on the oilfield. One of the cronies I worked for promised $5K a month and you had to be ok with being out for two weeks at a time. Well that two weeks quickly turned into 24 hours even if you stayed out for months at a time. They also punish you for trying to be safe. Here is the link I wrote about it and met the lovely @Western flyer: Take 2 Transport Pros & Cons So Far
But truth be told, the oilfield is a lot like living. Tomorrow isn't promised.

    Oink, Oink.

i could be wrong, but i think i would perhaps benefit more if people built new houses entirely, instead of buy and sell them.

Now is a much better time to sell a house than to buy one.

Just imagine living in a cave with no running water taking a bath out of a gallon jug of water , cab of your truck filled with dirt you been breathing all day , parking in a dirt lot with a tipped over #### house and a overflowing dumpster , I'd be doing anything but sand.

This seems like a far more sensible course of action
    I hope you pursue it

I liked cement way better than doing sandboxes. Show up to the rig and they're waiting on you, they roll out the red carpet. Once you roll up to location they want the cement asap. If I was the only truck there they'd usually send out a hand or 2 to help me hook up, move #### if it was in the way. Sand you're just another #.

We did sandbox work back in 2019 for a bit. Wasn't bad really, 75hr detention after a hour

Ever since boxes came around sand went to ####. Any ole idiot can run a box, no specialized equipment or driver needed. You'll be working with the likes of swift and warner.

And knocked the hell out of the rates
