I just bought a 2 car Kaufman flat gooseneck trailer, the truck I have now is a longbed because I currently have a wedge car hauler but I’m about to purchase a new truck as well and don’t know if I can go with a shortbed with new trailer or not. Any comments or help is appreciated.

A short bed will ride rougher than a long bed...

Keep the long bed. Why would you want a shorter bed?

I’d stay long box then you can run a larger between the rails tool box.
