Any ltl linehaul xtraboard outfits offer per diem?

    Per diem ltl list? Surprised more Fleets don't offer these for drivers typically they charge the driver something but it's worthwhile for the drivers tax savings...

    We used to be able to claim per diem on our taxes by being considered OTR drivers due to crossing state lines and whatnot, even those of us who were home daily.

    Then the 2017 Trump "tax cut" got rid of that. My federal tax bill increased by $4,000 the following year.

    Unfortunately I don't know of any LTL companies who will do the per diem via payroll like some OTR companies do, so most truck drivers lost that benefit. The only exception that I know of are owner-operators. They can still claim the per diem allowance.

    Oak Harbor Freight Lines paid $12 for a per diem for every layover when I ran extraboard for them, but that was back in 2016, I don't know if they do that now, I left in 2016, and it was $16 if your layover was over in what they called South Bay (CA Bay Area).
