The trucking school that I went to just four and a half or five years ago, the head instructor would not allow us to even say the word automatic. And he was serious. Some of the students were whining “why do we have to learn this manual stuff when we’re going to be driving automatics”. So he made the policy. If you said automatic in his class he would send you home for the day. The second offense you were thrown out of the class. Lol
Are "manual transmissions only" types of drivers supertruckers?

He might not have been packing the right gear, but I bet he won and probably turned out some very thankful students who could find the right gear.

Personally for me, manually driving is relaxing, the truck is going to drive like how I want it to. Tho when i switched to automatic, everything to my possession just started to jump around. I wish I had my stick back, tho this is new time and we got to get used to bs
