I mentioned this happened 3-24-22. The previous week, I had gone up NB on U.S. 97 near Goldendale and never seen that weigh station open. I thought it was like the Toppenish or Wallula ones where the weigh stations are there but literally NEVER open. That's what I thought what this one was. Just there but never open.
What I didn't mention in my original post, was that this guy called me on the phone a several days before this happened and he told me that if I got a *speeding* ticket he would have to let me go. And, he said he told that to all his drivers or so he claimed. His reasoning was that he told me that if any of his drivers got a speeding ticket, his insurance would go up and he would have to let anyone who got a speeding ticket go.
Now, even though he just said *speeding*, I took that to mean ANY citation. So you gotta look at it from my point of view, why would i wanna let this guy know that I just got a citation, when that basically means that I would be out of a job and have to start to search for something else?
At least by hiding it, it got me a little over a month of employment, whereas if I had told him right away, I POSSIBLY would have been let go as soon as telling him about the citation.
Also, FWIW that week that I got the citation, I was really sick. Sick means being fatigued and just out of it. I called off a couple of days that week and he calls me and says if I don't go to work and start doing these loads, the company he was subcontracting with was going to go on to the next trucking company down the list and he would not have any more work for me to do. So i had to go in and start driving truck even when I was sick.
Now, the week previous of 3-24-22 I was heading southbound on U.S. 97 towardss Biggs Junction and that same weigh station was open. The sign was blinking, however I did not go thru cause I was empty and thought why should i go thru if I am empty and heading out of state?
Got Citation. Didn't tell employer.

This was WA state. So WSP, not DOT. I think the WSP does the tasks DOT does.
Yes, my previous employer before that found out about the 2 citations i got last year (2021) I didn't even have to tell them! I'm surprised this guy didn't find out. Had to stop on the side of the road and drive back to the scale, spend upwards of 45 mins there...
This is why its best to have one's own business, being my own boss. instead of working for someone else and making them money. -
Ha just drive on by the open scale when empty you say? Troll posts are entertaining to read sometimes!
