I made the above posts mainly because the rest of the industry tends to have a lot of respect for Schneider tanker experience (assuming a driver stays there a reasonable amount of time).

Also--if Groendyke hires total beginners, I was not aware of that.

I worked for Southeast Milk out of Montezuma GA for a while. They were a okay company, the pay was very good starting at 0.62 cpm, trucks were nice but had the weakest engine you could put in a truck (Paccar MX13 430 HP). All the trucks are 2021 Kenworth T880 mid sized sleepers, not a lot of room but manageable. Ran down to Quitman, GA to a another terminal dropping loads, delivered to Publix in Dacula, GA outside of Lawrenceville. Sometimes ran down to Belleview Florida to the main terminal to get loads and take them to customers in central Florida, all the way up to Missouri. It’s all drop and hook mostly, my last load with the company was a live unload in Tennessee. I recommend the company to new drivers to get experience, but 6 days of non stop driving is exhausting. I made good money, however. At the end of 2 weeks, I could expect a +/- $3000 dollar check. The trailers they have are really nice Walker Tankers, ranging from 6200 gallon to 6500 gallon. They do utilize the Smith System, which in my opinion is quality training that has saved my ### more times than you would think. You have to maintain 6 second following distance while hooked and 10-15 second following distance while bob tail. They have forward and driver facing cameras, and if you stare off into the road for more than a few seconds, speeding, following too closely, brake too hard, etc., it records an event and you are confronted on it the next time you return to main office. A soft ### chewing if you will.

The dispatchers for this company had unrealistic expectations on delivery and had little to no knowledge on how long it takes to drive 1200 miles. I once was on my my second to last day before my 34 hour reset at home, had to run a load of cream down to Florida to the main terminal and grab an empty and bring it back to Montezuma. The trip going down and coming back was easily 11 hours of drive time with the traffic around Ocala and Gainesville on I-75. Once arriving at the Florida terminal, they wanted me to bring a load down to Lakeland which is about 2 hours south, drop it, and go back to the terminal to pick up a second load and bring it to Tampa. That was easily a 11 hour day. I did what they asked me and on my Friday, wanted me to drive the 2 hours back to the main terminal to pick up a load to take it to Atlanta, and then I could go home….. with 10 hours of on duty/drive time on my 70 hour clock. Needless to say, I drove 5 hours back to my terminal and dropped it on the yard and went home. That’s what caused me to leave the company because they wanted you to do the impossible all the time, despite you explaining realistic delivery times and your ability to do a task. They didn’t care, and they were looking at Google Maps and going off the information provided to them, not accepting a drivers input.

A current driver trainer for Southeast Milk told me they are laying people off and have stopped accepting applications for the Belleview Florida terminal. They operate two dairies in Montezuma GA and that’s really all they have. It might be worth giving them a shot. But expect to be slow, spending 40% of your time trying to get up to speed.
