We move over wide steel plate for a dedicated customer who is 150 miles away. There is a wishy washy tarp policy. The customer "prefers" all loads to be tarped, but has accepted a compromise where we do not tarp on sunny days when there's no salt on the roads. All loads pay the same, tarped or not.
I get $215 per load. 300 mile round trip, oversize banners and flags, sometimes tarped, sometimes not, and I'm thinking this is fair for untarped loads but a little light for tarped loads. What do you guys think. Is my barometer out of whack?

I'm considering making a little bit of a stink, because other accounts we have pay separately for tarping, this one does not for some reason.
But, would pushing for tarp pay open a can of worms that could jeopardize the entire account, or, end up with no change in pay but now 100% of loads are tarped just to put and end to my stink.Tug Toy, beastr123 and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
How many hours does it typically take you to do this trip?

1. Pay is $215. That's a good rate with a tarp, and you're making out like a bandit with no tarp. In this case, keep quiet.
2. Pay is $215. That's a good rate without a tarp, but if you're tarping, you're getting screwed. In this case, you need a raise.BackwoodsGA, cke and loudtom Thank this. -

I will guess that you are a co. driver at the 300 mi. Pay 215$ deal?
Badmon Thanks this. -
When you spend time for tarping then you need to be paid extra for tarping.
Unless you are getting paid a very good rate in comparison to your other dedicated loads
